Deborah Kohan has over two decades of experience propelling clients through the media arena. Since 1994, when she joined Finn Partners division, MEDIA CONNECT, she has had the opportunity to work with a highly diverse range of clients including publishing, consumer, corporate, non-profits, and foundations. Her expertise spans the gamut from strategic counsel and media relations to media training.
A few of her clients over the years have included JWT Advertising, the Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation, Castle Connolly Medical (“America’s Top Doctors” Lists), The Cleveland Clinic, and Tauck River Cruises.
Over the years she has represented many authors and publishers ranging from an undercover narcotics officer, several Navy SEALs and bestselling authors (Dean Koontz, Lee Child, Janet Evanovich, Kate DiCamillo) to Food Network Chef Robin Miller, Editor of The New Yorker, Robert Mankoff and former politicians (President Jimmy Carter) and even His Holiness, Pope Francis.
In addition to running media campaigns for various corporate and publishing clients, Deborah is leading MC's Spanish media division, MC en Español. She and her team have successfully maximized exposure in the Latino market for such clients as Verizon, newscaster Jorge Ramos, and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center.
Ensuring that her clients maximize the media opportunities she gains for them, Deborah media trains them. Covering everything from crafting eloquent branding messages to the physical elements of an interview, she has helped the C-Suites from organizations such as Direct TV, Tauck River Cruises, the Arison Group, and others become media-ready ambassadors for their brand.
Prior to joining MEDIA CONNECT, Deborah worked at Carol Publishing Group and the advertising agency, Laurence, Charles, Free and Lawson.
